We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell said. “We the National Football League admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest.
“We the National Football League believe black lives matter. I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much-needed change in this country. Without black players, there would be no National Football League.”

Actually he's telling that to the fans.. He lets the kneeling happen again during the anthem . That league will take a massive hit..

there would be no National Football league without white owners, white quarterbacks, white kickers, and white fans, too.

Keeping players in the locker room certainly does not prevent protestors from kneeling during the anthem, now does it?

So fans at the game and watching on TV will still have the anthem and flag to honor , but the players will just be able to ignore the ceremony altogether.. No issue here I guess.. Or nothing to see here..
